Four easy steps. That’s it. With minimal tools, time, and effort you can have a perfect heart shaped wreath adorning your front door. Make your guests feel special from the moment they approach your home. Heck, make the the delivery guy feel special and he’ll probably do a better job delivering your packages. It’s worth a shot.
I’ll share the love with you in this easy tutorial. Comment on this post and I’ll share even more by sending one lucky follower a heart shaped wire base to create your very own wreath! Woohoo!

Instructions
Step 1:
Remove flowers and greenery from the stems. For the flowers, just pop the flower portion off from the stems and then cut the eucalyptus where it joins on to the main stem.
TIP: Purchase flowers when they are on clearance. These red flowers were purchased (70% off!) when Michael’s craft store was getting rid of their Autumn floral. Yeah, these were considered Fall flowers but were perfect for Valentine’s Day. Always keep your eye open for a good deal.
Step 2:
Lay the flowers out to get a basic idea of what arrangement looks good to you. I liked having a little bit of the greenery framing the red blossoms.
Step 3:
Cut a 8-10 inch length of floral wire, bend loosely in half and thread the cut ends through the top part of the flower base. Push the ends through the center until they pop out the back. Ideally, the wire should thread through the little tunnel where the stem originally attached. Pull the cut ends until the wire is secure and holds the flower together. Be sure that none of the petals are caught in the looped wire end.
Step 4:
The craft stores only had foam or grapevine heart shaped wreath forms that measured a maximum of 12 inches from top to bottom. UPDATE: I checked online and Hobby Lobby has the same type of metal heart wreath frame, but only measuring 12 inches. That wasn’t big enough for me, I wanted 16 inches, so I ordered from Amazon.
Hold the wired blossom up to the heart shaped wire frame and wrap the wire around the base until firmly in place. Start with the greenery that will act as a base to the blossoms. Add the flowers on top of the greenery. Continue with this method until all of the wreath base is covered.
The nice thing about wiring the floral pieces to the base is that they can easily be changed out at any time. Let’s face it, nothing can withstand the sun. My front door faces the afternoon sun so in a few years these blossoms will be faded. The good news is that it is easy to change out.
Creating wreaths seemed like an expensive and complicated craft, but that is not so. Of course, you can always add as much as you desire to your wreath, but I tend to enjoy keeping it simple and doable. Getting the project completed is always a good thing. Take one look at my craft space and you know I don’t need anymore projects collecting in the “when I get a minute” pile.

Unfortunately the ability to post pictures is not available. Too many bad people out there on the internet try to post inappropriate things on people’s blogs. So terrible. Anyway, I would love to see pictures. Be sure to post them on the Facebook page, Tinged Blue. π
